Wecap login, web desk & account access
The Wecap login flow lives behind the official Wecap web desk and the Android / iOS apps. Sign-in runs through the web desk or the Android / iOS apps. The flow covers device binding, the OTP recovery path and biometric upgrade.
Three ways to reach the Wecap play desk
The Wecap login runs through one identity provider. Whether you sign in on the web desk, on Android, or on iOS, the same account, the same KYC, the same withdrawals.
Open the play desk in any modern browser. No extension, no install. Two-factor OTP binds the session to your phone number.
Install the latest APK from /apk-download/. The app supports biometric login once device binding is complete.
Install from the official App Store link on /download/. Apple ID + Face ID replaces OTP on subsequent logins.
How two-factor login works on Wecap
Every login attempt triggers an OTP to the phone number registered with KYC. The session is also bound to the device you used the first time you signed in.
- 1Enter your mobile number
The login screen asks for the mobile number registered at sign-up. Foreign numbers are gated until KYC review is complete.
- 2Receive the OTP
The OTP is delivered by SMS and by the in-app push channel. Standard OTP validity is five minutes; expired OTPs trigger a fresh send.
- 3Bind the device
First-time logins on a new device prompt a one-tap binding confirmation. Subsequent logins on the same device skip this step.
- 4Biometric upgrade (optional)
On Android and iOS, you can replace the OTP step with biometric verification. Disable biometric from the wallet menu at any time.
Recovering access when OTP stops arriving
OTP delivery depends on your mobile carrier. If you stop receiving OTPs, the recovery flow uses KYC documents to verify identity.
What to do when OTP fails
- 1Try the in-app push channel
The OTP may already be in your push notifications; the in-app channel bypasses SMS routing issues.
- 2Wait 60 seconds and resend
Rate-limited resends keep the OTP flow from being abused.
- 3Email fallback
If your account has a verified email, the system emails a one-time recovery code valid for 15 minutes.
- 4KYC reset
Final escalation goes through customer care with PAN + Aadhaar. Re-verification is one working day.
What Wecap will never ask
- Your full card number or CVV — Wecap handles payments on the back end.
- Your full Aadhaar number on chat — only the last four digits are used for verification.
- Remote screen-share sessions — KYC happens in-app, never via remote access.
- Bank PIN or UPI PIN — Wecap never sees your PIN; only the UPI handle.
Managing your bound devices
The Wecap login system supports up to five bound devices per account. The first device is bound automatically; subsequent devices are added with OTP confirmation.
Where to see them
The wallet menu lists every bound device. Each entry shows the device name, last login timestamp and binding method.
How to unbind
Tap any device in the list to unbind it. Unbinding triggers a fresh OTP to your registered mobile number. Confirmation removes the binding within 30 seconds.
Five-device cap
The cap protects against account-sharing abuse. If you need a sixth device, contact customer care with a written explanation; the desk reviews case by case.
Setting up biometric login
Biometric login replaces the OTP step on subsequent sign-ins on the same device. The setup is one tap after the first successful OTP.
- 1Open the wallet menu
The wallet menu is in the bottom navigation on mobile or the top-right corner on the web desk.
- 2Tap Account > Biometric login
The toggle sits below the change-password option. If your device does not support biometric, the toggle is hidden.
- 3Confirm with biometric
The system prompts for biometric verification (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint). A successful verification enables biometric login.
- 4Subsequent logins
Future logins on the same device use biometric instead of OTP. OTP remains the fallback if biometric fails.
Reader questions about Wecap login
Reader questions sent to the desk in the last quarter, answered in editorial voice. Send yours via /contact/.
Why does Wecap need my mobile number?
The mobile number is the primary identifier for the Wecap account. OTP delivery, KYC escalation and customer-care routing all use the mobile number. The number is verified during sign-up.
Can I change my mobile number?
Yes. The mobile number can be changed from the wallet menu. The change requires OTP confirmation on both the old and new numbers.
What if I lose my phone with the bound device?
Use a different bound device to log in, then unbind the lost device from the wallet menu. If the lost device was your only bound device, contact customer care for device reset.
Does Wecap support password login?
No. Wecap uses OTP-only authentication by design. Password-based login adds attack surface without improving security when paired with OTP.
What if I travel outside India?
Wecap login works from any country with a stable internet connection. The OTP delivery depends on your mobile carrier's international SMS support.
What happens if your account is locked
Accounts can be locked for several reasons: too many failed OTP attempts, suspicious login activity, or a customer-care escalation. The desk's recovery flow is documented below.
- 1Wait 30 minutes
Too many failed OTP attempts triggers a 30-minute lock. After 30 minutes, the OTP delivery resumes.
- 2Try a different network
If the lock is triggered by suspicious login activity, switching to a different network (Wi-Fi to mobile, or vice versa) may clear the trigger.
- 3Email fallback
If your account has a verified email, the system emails a one-time recovery code valid for 15 minutes.
- 4Customer care escalation
Final escalation goes through customer care with PAN + Aadhaar. Re-verification is one working day.
Login security best practices
Five best practices keep your Wecap login secure.
- 1Enable biometric on your primary device
Biometric login replaces the OTP step on the bound device. Faster and harder to phish.
- 2Review bound devices monthly
The wallet menu lists every bound device. Remove any device you no longer use.
- 3Never share your OTP
The desk never asks for your OTP. Anyone who asks is a scam.
- 4Use the in-app password reset
Wecap does not support password login, but if you ever change devices, use the in-app reset rather than a third-party link.
- 5Report suspicious activity immediately
If you receive an OTP you didn't request, contact the desk immediately. The desk reviews the activity and may lock the account pending investigation.
Account recovery, in depth
Account recovery runs through three paths depending on what you have access to.
OTP recovery
If you still have access to your registered mobile, OTP recovery is the fastest path. The OTP is delivered within 60 seconds in typical conditions.
Email recovery
If your account has a verified email and you've lost mobile access, the email recovery path delivers a one-time code valid for 15 minutes.
KYC recovery
If both mobile and email are inaccessible, KYC recovery is the final path. The desk reviews PAN + Aadhaar re-verification within one working day.
Common login issues & fixes
Most login issues have a simple cause. The most common are documented below.
"OTP not received" message.
Check that your mobile has signal and that SMS is enabled for the Wecap number. If the issue persists, try the in-app push channel or the email fallback.
"Account locked" message.
Too many failed OTP attempts triggers a 30-minute lock. After 30 minutes, the OTP delivery resumes. If the lock persists, contact customer care.
"Device not recognised" message.
The device is new and requires OTP confirmation. Confirm with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. The device is bound after confirmation.
"Biometric failed" message.
Biometric verification may fail in low light, with a face mask, or with dirty fingerprint sensors. Fall back to OTP if biometric fails repeatedly.
