Wecap customer care — matchday desk & support channels
The Wecap customer care desk runs through every matchday window. Priority routing covers toss and team-sheet release; routine queries clear in under an hour.
How to reach the desk
Three channels, one identity. Pick the one that fits the urgency.
Open the wallet menu and tap Help. In-app chat is the fastest path; the desk reads context from your account.
Reach the editorial and account desks via email. Use the category prefix in the subject line.
Use the contact form for non-urgent queries. Forms route to the right desk via the topic selector.
The official Wecap social channels handle announcements and outage notices, not account queries.
Routing your query
The category prefix in your subject line tells the desk which queue to use.
| Prefix | Desk | Typical response |
|---|---|---|
| [KYC] | Verification desk | Within 2 working hours during business hours |
| [DEPOSIT] | Payments desk | Within 1 hour; priority during match windows |
| [WITHDRAW] | Payments desk | Within 1 hour; priority during match windows |
| [CONTEST] | Contest engine desk | Within 30 minutes during match windows |
| [ACCOUNT] | Account desk | Within 4 working hours |
| [EDITORIAL] | Editorial desk | Within 24 working hours |
| [RESPONSIBLE] | Responsible-play desk | Within 4 working hours; self-exclusion immediate |
What the desk will never ask
The Wecap customer care desk follows a strict safety policy. Knowing what we will never ask is the easiest way to spot a scam.
Sensitive fields
- Full card number or CVV
- Full Aadhaar number on chat
- Bank PIN or UPI PIN
- OTP over the phone (the desk never reads OTPs aloud)
- Remote screen-share sessions
- Password reset over chat (use the in-app flow)
Safe fields
- Last four digits of Aadhaar
- Registered mobile number
- Contest ID for a query
- Transaction reference for a withdrawal query
- Approximate timestamp for an incident
What counts as a priority queue
The matchday desk runs three priority queues during live match windows. Anything outside a live match falls into the standard queue.
Toss + team-sheet window
The 30 minutes before and after the toss. The desk prioritises team-sheet queries, deposit issues that block contest entry, and KYC escalations that block first-time participation.
Mid-innings
The desk prioritises withdrawal holds, contest cancellations, and captain pick desk issues. Routine queries wait until the innings break.
Post-result
The desk prioritises contest settlement queries, withdrawal issues, and bug reports. Routine queries clear within 1 hour after the result posts.
How escalation works
When the first-line desk cannot resolve the issue within the target window, the query escalates to a specialist. The escalation path is documented below.
- 1First-line desk
Routes the query to the right queue and resolves common issues within the target window.
- 2Specialist desk
Takes over if the query is a category that needs deeper expertise — payments desk, KYC desk, contest engine desk.
- 3Compliance officer
Takes over if the query touches PROG Act, 2025 compliance, state restrictions or responsible-play matters.
- 4Operator escalation
Takes over if the issue has not resolved at the compliance-officer level within 5 working days. The operator names a lead contact.
Recognising scam "support" calls
Impostor support scams are common in fantasy gaming. The desk publishes this section so readers know what to watch for.
What scam calls do
- Ask for full Aadhaar or PAN over the phone
- Demand UPI PIN or bank PIN
- Push you to install remote-access software
- Offer "instant verification" outside the app
- Imply the Wecap brand has approved a third-party verifier
What the real desk does
- Never asks for full Aadhaar or PAN
- Never sees your UPI PIN or bank PIN
- Verifies inside the app, never over remote-access
- KYC has a fixed turnaround time
- All Wecap verifications are inside the app or /wallet-kyc/

How do I reach the desk during a live match?
In-app chat is the fastest channel. The matchday desk runs through every live match window with priority routing during toss and team-sheet release.
Can I email the desk in Hindi?
Yes. The desk accepts Hindi and English. Replies are in the language of the incoming message.
What if my email bounces?
The most common cause is a typo on the registered mobile number. Open the wallet menu and verify the email address; resend the email after correction.
Can I escalate beyond the operator's desk?
Yes. If internal escalation has not resolved within the published window, readers retain access to the consumer forums under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The desk does not waive any statutory consumer rights.
Does the desk respond on social channels?
Social channels handle announcements and outage notices, not account queries. For account help, use in-app chat or email.
Languages the desk supports
The desk accepts queries in English and Hindi. Replies are in the language of the incoming message; if the desk cannot reply in the requested language, the reply is in English.
Languages the desk reads
- English
- Hindi (Devanagari)
Languages under consideration
- Tamil · high demand from Chennai & Bengaluru reader surveys
- Bengali · high demand from Kolkata reader surveys
- Marathi · high demand from Mumbai reader surveys
What a great support exchange looks like
The desk publishes the shape of a great support exchange so readers know what to expect. Five fields make it work.
- 1Registered mobile number
The desk reads the account by mobile number. Send the number you registered with, not the one you're calling from.
- 2Contest ID
If the query is about a contest, the contest ID lets the desk pull the exact entry. Find it in the wallet menu under Recent contests.
- 3Transaction reference
For deposit or withdrawal queries, the UPI transaction reference is enough for the payments desk to start the trace.
- 4Approximate timestamp
Match the timestamp to the contest ID or transaction reference. The desk triangulates faster.
- 5Desired outcome
"I want to withdraw the ₹4,500 still showing pending" is enough. The desk handles the rest.
Reader feedback loops back into the product
Reader feedback routed through the customer-care desk loops back into the product. Three changes from reader feedback in the last quarter are documented below.
- 1Improved UPI retry logic
Reader reports of transient UPI failures led to the improved retry logic in v3.3.2 (released July 2026). The retry handles transient failures without requiring a manual retry from the user.
- 2Faster liveness check
Reader feedback about the liveness check taking too long led to the speed improvement in v3.2.0 (released June 2026). The liveness check now completes in under 30 seconds.
- 3Methodology colophon in-app
Reader requests for the editorial methodology to be visible in the app led to the methodology colophon in v3.3.0 (released June 2026). The colophon is now reachable from the wallet menu.
Matchday desk hours, in detail
The matchday desk runs through every live match window. The hours are documented below for each match category.

| ODI internationals | Match window plus 30 min either side |
| Test matches | All five days, 09:00 IST to close of play |
| T10 leagues | Match window plus 30 min either side |
| Domestic leagues | Match window plus 30 min either side |
| Practice matches | Standard desk hours (no priority queue) |
The customer-care voice
The customer-care desk writes in the same editorial voice as the rest of the site. Short sentences, mono labels, no marketing prose.
Voice patterns the desk uses
- "The OTP delivery is failing because your carrier is rate-limiting SMS to short codes."
- "Your KYC verification is held because the liveness check did not match the PAN face."
- "The withdrawal is pending because your UPI handle needs verification."
Voice patterns the desk avoids
- "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience."
- "We value your feedback and will use it to improve our service."
- "Thank you for choosing Wecap."
